Enterprise Architecture Consultant
Our Enterprise Architects work with clients to build a framework for systematically planning,
aligning and understanding the relationships between business needs, business information and IT.
This includes elements of processes, applications, data, infrastructure, people, cost and governance.
Key in this approach is to join up business and IT strategies with detailed architectures that can be
of conceptual, logical or physical nature. By doing so, we help our clients to transform their
businesses through understanding, reconciling and planning across business, information and
technology domains. Approaches architecture in terms of costs and benefits - ensuring traceability back to specific strategy objectives, business requirements and priorities. A key benefit is cost avoidance and reduction by leveraging existing investment and reducing duplication and inefficiencies.
We require as a minimum for this role:
- Education to Degree level. (Further personal / industry qualifications such as ACA/CIMA or MBA
are valued but not considered essential).
- Ability to develop high-level solutions and plans (such as design blueprints, transformation
roadmaps) for complex business requirements in functional areas such as Finance, Operations,
Procurement.
- Proven ability to link strategic objectives in business and IT to delivery plans and solution
design.
- Ability to work with client stakeholders in all areas of the enterprise - from line of business
leaders to IT technical specialists - to integrate business and IT and facilitate collaborative
solution development.
- Strong relationship building skills and networking ability, both internally and with clients. We
would expect you to demonstrate where you have maximised the value of those relationships
on an ongoing basis.
- Broad skills as IT practitioner with the ability and interest to see the big picture. You are likely
to have experience and skills of business applications (such as SAP or Oracle).
- You are likely to have used architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, CARTA or FEAF and you are

comfortable explaining concepts such as SOA to non-technical stakeholders
- Relevant (CIPS) industry experience is desirable but not essential (please detail which areas on
your CV)
- Experience of working in sizable/ multi-disciplined teams and supervising staff
- At least some previous finance expertise/ exposure would be desirable
Consulting experience required:

At Consultant level, we would expect a previous track record of Consulting to large/ blue chip
clients doing Technology advisory work including day to day handling & developing of relationships.
This will either be consulting to a range of external clients or possibly from an established in-house
consulting operation. You are likely to have a range of experience without being a deep specialist in
one or more areas. You will have excelled in your professional life and will be likely to have
demonstrated achievements in areas outside work.


As a specialist Enterprise Architecture Consultant, your main focus will be to:
- Work with clients to link business strategy to the design of solutions through the
development of architecture deliverables, such as IT application architectures, roadmaps
and migration plans. You need to be able to understand, manage and reduce complexity to
define appropriate solutions.
- The identification, verification and development of business requirements at a strategic
level and the development of solutions as part of a transformation engagement
- Close engagement with key client stakeholders across business and IT to understand
requirements, develop high-level 'To-Be' solutions and migration options.
- Lead engagements in complex and challenging client environments
- Develop internal capability and contribute to thought leadership.
