Marketing Manager
Our client is a national environmental charity that helps people to make positive changes to reduce their environmental impact in schools, businesses, households and communities. For almost 15 years, we have delivered tangible environmental, social and financial improvements through their innovative programmes, bringing hundreds of thousands of people together to take the small actions that make a big difference to the things that matter such as climate change.

ROLE:
Our client has recently awarded the re-design and replacement of their corporate website and key project websites along with the provision of a common hosted platform for these and future developments. In addition, our client has recently secured funding to engage with young people, with a project specific website being developed by the funders' external agency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) To develop our client's online digital marketing strategy that will build on the overall web strategy and maximise the use of the main corporate and associated websites, raise the profile of our client and their specific projects online and drive web traffic to the sites.
b) To ensure that these strategies are integrated with the marketing and communication strategies for the business and key programme deliveries.
c) To proactively research external developments of digital applications to ensure our client's technology responds positively and quickly and creatively to emerging technical innovations and partner developments.
d) To actively manage all web-related agencies including corporate and funded partnership agencies.
e) Responsible for the ongoing development and content management of the core our client's website, the youth engagement website, intranet, temporary campaign/project microsites and any associated digital communications such as electronic newsletters.
f) To develop appropriate tone and style following brand /messaging guidelines.
g) Generate and implement editorial and approval procedures and develop an effective internal process to ensure that the CMS (or similar system) can be implemented effectively, including any staff or volunteer training requirements.
h) To develop comprehensive and robust tracking systems including ways of generating feedback from site users and visitors to gain customer intelligence and inform methods of improving the site.
i) To support the provision of written content on the website and digital collateral to ensure maximum impact, engage new visitors and encourage a greater involvement and understanding from existing visitors.
j) To ensure all online activity is legally compliant and complies with accessibility and usability requirements.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) You will have a qualification in a Communications or Marketing discipline and have commercial experience in a digital marketing / web development role.
b) A sound understanding of web technologies and content development.
c) You should have a keen interest in social networking and emerging web communication methods with a good working knowledge of information management.
d) Proven and varied experience of running a variety of projects successfully at the same time, including working with external contractors and managing a minimum of two people internally to deliver targets.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Any understanding of environmental issues, particularly climate change and waste would be highly desirable.
b) Previous experience of working within the not-for-profit sector would be a bonus.
