IT Support / Helpdesk Engineer
Position: IT Web Support Specialist
Location: Southwark, South East London (near London Bridge mainline and underground stations).
Salary: $19-24K
Hours of Work: You will be required to work on a rota to provide Helpdesk cover from 08:30 - 17:00 or 09:30- 18:00 Monday to Friday.

CLIENT:
Our client is a growing software firm with high profile global clients in banking, finance, accounting, insurance, legal, management consulting and public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Providing 1st line support to external clients.
b) Developing reports.
c) Creating and modifying database procedures.
d) Writing and updating documentation.
e) Modifying / developing web pages.
f) Provide advice to users on how to use the software.
g) Resolve queries efficiently and promptly.
h) Log all calls and ensure satisfactory resolution within set timescales.
i) Escalate problems in line with guidelines.
j) Install Software at client sites.
k) Implement software upgrades at client sites.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) At least 12 months experience working in a similar role.
b) Candidates must possess a strong working knowledge of either SQL Server2000/2005, or ORACLE 9i/10g, or SYBASE ASE 12.5.
c) Strong SQL query expertise and ability to write and troubleshoot stored procedures is essential.
d) You should have a thorough understanding of the relationship between the markup describing a page and the document objects representing its content. You should be able to use JavaScript to manipulate these objects in order to control the behaviour of the page.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Ideally candidates will have a computer related degree.
