| Software Support Engineer |
|
A leading research firm based in London require a Software Support Engineer with the ability to undertake the following responsibilities:
Perform software support for solutions designed and developed in .net 2.0 - 3.5; C#; Oracle; Excel/VBA; Flex
Own end to end triage of incoming support defects including:
Severity assessment
Prioritisation of incoming work
Trouble shooting and Identification of root cause of issue to defect
Collaboration with developers and testers to resolve and verify fixes
Handover of resolved issues back to Application Support Teams.
Communication and Tracking of all work status and forecasts
Work under the daily supervision of the Solution Delivery Lead & Application Support Teams
Maintain a prioritised work plan of incoming work and escalate critical issues as required to gain visibility and support to resolve
Advise on communication back to our markets on targeted resolution time-lines for medium; high and critical issues
Participate in peer reviews and code walkthroughs as required to gain product knowledge & to support our quality initiatives for live products
Perform defect resolution as required during all testing phases including user acceptance testing
Participate in retrospective reviews after product releases
Support and participate in the estimation process for new work packages and releases as required.
Essential Skills
Exposure to .NET framework 1.0 - 3.5 using the following:
C#
ASP.NET
ADO.NET
Proficiency in ANSI SQL on RDBMS such as Oracle
Sound understanding of the principles of OO development and structuring n-tier applications
Sound knowledge of best practice development techniques including:
Iterative Development
Peer Programming
Unit Testing
Automated Builds & Deployment of Software solutions
