Optimisation Manager
The Royal Bank of Scotland is one of the world's leading financial institutions and a key player in the Retail Banking market. Our RBS UK division is one of the largest providers of banking and investments to personal and small business customers in the UK. The Commercial Cards and Direct Finance department combines a number of key business areas; Global Merchant Services, RBS WorldPay US, Hanco, Global Travel Money Service and Commercial Cards, working together to deliver a reliable, trustworthy and profitable business which has the client at its heart. Our platforms and products enable us to deliver market leading solutions for clients from complex foreign exchange and multi-currency settlement to cash withdrawals at ATMs and contactless payments for less than 10.

Any exciting opportunity has arisen for a 6 month Fixed Term Contract as an Optimisation Manager.

In this position you will be expected to:-

To source, identify, evaluate, and structure information to complete a business case for optimising global opportunities from the ABN AMRO acquisition
Develop relationships in other key areas within the Group in order to ensure the business case is fully integrated with business partner strategies
Identify potential opportunities utilising a variety of internal and external data sources
Develop an understanding, and where appropriate implement new technologies and enhancements on IT platforms to enable new opportunities to be realised
Ensure information obtained (both customer, project and market insight data) is stored and retained for future initiatives
Ensure that other business areas impacts are assessed and resourced correctly to meet customer needs and realise optimisation opportunities
Work with business partners to ensure that implementation is achieved and any relevant issues are communicated to all relevant parties assisting them when appropriate
Work with Project Managers to ensure that activity is monitored and reporting is accurate and complies with RBS group standards
Complete other tasks as directed by Manager


Success measures

Feasibility studies, business case, and contribution to the production of appropriate delivery documentation, leading to the ability to deliver optimisation solutions speedily to market via collaboration with other team members within Commercial Cards and other areas.
Generation of optimisation ideas and solutions that show multiple stakeholders needs, both internal and external, have been considered
Accurate and timely reporting as requested by Manager
Delivery of tasks completed in the timeframes set.

You will have a proven track record of identifying, analysing and evaluating end to end solutions in a new environment and preparing business cases. With experience in and knowledge in a Commercial Cards business preferable. You should also have strong problem solving skills and the ability to analyse concepts quickly and in depth. Excellent analytical, business case production and evaluation skills. You will also have the ability to negotiate favourable terms and agreements with third party contacts and suppliers.

You will also have experience in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Project and Word.
