Amazon Data Services Ireland Ltd is renowned for the provision of e-commerce services and solutions. We are looking to recruit a brilliant Senior Network Engineer to work alongside our successful engineering team in Dublin, and require a highly motivated and creative individual who is proficient in all aspects of networking.
Amazon is seeking highly motivated and creative Network Engineers who are proficient in all aspects of networking.
Responsibilities include:
The monitoring and maintenance of business/ mission critical systems
Participation in capacity planning reviews
Owning the improvement of our network operations
Interaction with internal customers and team members
Providing critical on-call technical support and technical consultation to Amazon internal customers
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required
Candidates ideally should have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar environment
Excellent IP networking fundamentals skills
In-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols
Excellent network analysis fundamentals
Strong Unix skills, and robust troubleshooting skills
The ability to script in Perl, shell, or C is highly desired
This position also requires strong interpersonal skills and a successful track record of coordinating and driving issues to resolution.
Candidates should also have had significant past experience with and expertise in many of the following protocols & technologies: WDM, T1, SONET, 802.11, STP, IP, TCP(internals), BGP, OSPF, HSRP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, MPLS, STP, IPSEC, netflow, DNS, HTTP.
Experience configuring load balancers, troubleshooting traffic engineering using BGP and large scale network design and maintenance is critical.
Experience with mission critical multicast systems and L2 and L3 highly desired.
